THE BOOK OF THE UNNAMED MIDWIFE (Book 1 of 2 in the Road to Nowhere series) by Meg Elison

The unnamed midwife

Get comfortable and don’t plan on getting up until you have read this book from cover to cover.

Imagine a world that due to an extreme outbreak, there is a shortage of women. They and their babies are dying in childbirth.

The main character is an OB/GYN, and she is on a mission to protect women from having babies until the outbreak of the unknown disease can be stopped.

She has a lot of adventures, and even disguises herself as a man, to prevent being raped, or chained by the neck and taken as a sex slave.

There is graphic language and sex in this novel, but it is done in a tasteful, realistic way. What else would you do but cuss like a sailor when it seemed most of the human species has died?

And what else would happen once lawlessness sets in, but rape and violence?

My favorite thing about this book was I did not have to suspend disbelief. And, it really made me think about how reliant we are on common every day needs such as water and electricity. Do we ever stop to think what would happen if the workers who run the utilities were suddenly unable to?

I received this on behalf of NetGalley, and I have nothing but great things to say about this book and this Author.

The characters are complete, the plot is full and does not have any plot holes. I did not have to go back to pages and re-read anything.

This book will be released on October 11th 2016 on Amazon. You can preorder it for $3.99
