How did I not find this one sooner? “UNLUCKY DAY”J.R. McLEAY

unlucky-day

DESCRIPTION:

EVERYONE HAS TO COME OUT IN THE OPEN EVENTUALLY.

A mysterious sniper is killing random New York City citizens every day at the same time.

Detective Joe Bannon and his partner Hannah Trimble follow the breadcrumb trail of clues down repeated blind alleys. With citizens fearing to venture outside, the streets of Manhattan have become nearly deserted.

When the sniper begins escalating the profile of his targets, higher level government agencies are pulled in. But the shooter always seems to be one step ahead of the law and slips away whenever the authorities get close.

As copycat killings begin spreading to other cities across the U.S., the President hatches a dangerous plan to trap the killer. Can Joe and Hannah catch the assassin before he executes the most closely guarded man in history?

MY THOUGHTS:

I opened my Kindle Oasis the other day, to finish reading an entirely different book. Of course, Amazon gives me ads, and this book is what popped up as a suggestion for me.

“One click and that was it!” Those of you addicted to Amazon like I am, know what I mean! 🙂

I read this book cover to cover in one sitting, and did not want to put it down the few times I had to stop to refill my coffee mug.

The plot was believable, especially this day and age in the real world. In this book, the Sniper shoots at a certain time of day, so the general public changes their typical daily routine because of it.

I really like Detective Joe Bannon, and I hope…REALLY hope, that the author is considering maybe doing a series of books with this Detective? (Pretty please.)

Joe is a smart detective, but he makes mistakes and has flaws, which makes him more likable and believable.

So, I’m hoping to see future books with him. I mean, REALLY REALLY hoping!

There are a couple of sad and shocking moments in this book, and the conclusion was realistic.

I am currently reading The Cicada Prophecy by this author. It is a medical thriller. It too would be a ‘read in one sitting book,’ if life would quit interrupting me.

Author J.R. McLeay is an incredible writer and his range is broad. I really think you will enjoy his books!

Here is the Amazon link for purchase. I promise you will not be disappointed. My review for The Cicada Prophecy will be up in a few days.
