Truly, Madly, Guilty…

I bought this book in paperback on a whim during a Target run. I have read “What Alice Forgot” by this Author, and I enjoyed it enough so I thought I would give this one a try.

I’m torn about how I feel about this story.

I did find this book hard to put down, however, I’m still really not into her writing style.

As with “What Alice Forgot,” so much of the book could have been chopped, and you would still have a good story.

In “What Alice Forgot,” one chapter would be about Alice, and the next would be a diary entry, I believe written by Alice’s sister.

In this book, you could honestly just read the chapters titled “The Day of The Bar-B-Q and you would have a good story.

I feel like this Author’s goal is word count.

I hate to say that, but this is the 2nd book I’ve read by Lianne Moriarty and the format is the same as the first one.

This story was too drawn out, but curiosity killed this cat.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. I especially appreciated the children having bigger roles in this book than they do in most stories.

Usually they are just background noise, but these children had big roles and important parts of this story.

I don’t know. I may or may not read future books by Lianne Moriarty.

This was a decent read after the rush of the Holidays on a cold Winters night.

After writing my review, I checked out the stars it got on Amazon, and they hit all ranges from 1-4.

I would give this a three.

Consider this for reading on a cold night like I did, or even a beach read when the seasons change.
